The Intermediate Series

The Intermediate Series

5th to 9th June at Eleven Eleven Yoga Studios

Looking for Intermediate Series in Liverpool? Look no further.

Join Julia for a journey through the Intermediate Series of Ashtanga Yoga. This series includes deep backbends and a selection of inversions. Students must have a little background in Ashtanga Yoga and be ready for a challenging practice. This is ideal for yoga teachers and practitioners who are looking to take practice to another level. While many of you are teaching/practicing Vinyasa Flow and Rocket Vinyasa, this course provides the fundamentals of some of the more challenging poses. Many of the postures will be familiar despite not having practicing them in the order as prescribed by Patthabi Jois. The course will look at how to modify the practice to make it accessible to your physicality and limitations.

Course Objectives

  • Alignment and technical details of all Intermediate Series postures and transitions
  • Modifications for all poses
  • A break-down of the Sanskrit names
  • Surrounding philosophies of Ashtanga Yoga
  • Led and self-practice with adjustments
  • Technical Workshops including backbends, hip-opening for Lotus, transitions
  • Myofascia Release for Ashtanga Yoga

Schedule

The course will run Monday to Friday, 8 to 5pm:

8 to 10am Ashtanga Yoga – Primary and Intermediate Series
