Introduction
Claire and Roman left their Parisian lives to open a surf camp in Nicaragua. They opened their resort January 2017 having fallen in love with the area, close to Aposentillo, on a surf trip not so long ago.
The resort has been open since January 2017. While there is a newness to the surf camp, the surrounding nature is very well developed with many trees to take shade in. The main yoga shala sits on a little hill overlooking it’s own private beach. It is a delight to practise here at any time of the day be it sunrise or sunset. The beach directly in front provides many spots for meditation and you can walk for miles from the resort and have stretches of sand to yourself. Relax on the beach, in a hammock or by the pool, there are so many places to unwind after a fun day of yoga. There are several surf beaches in the area with the nearest one just a 15 minute walk away.
Accommodation
The resort has 4 comfortable beachfront bungalows, all with private bathroom and large beds. Each of them has their ocean view deck to relax in privacy. They offer shared accommodation with 4 people sharing. Single/double/twin bungalows maybe available on request with a supplement charge subject to availability.
The decor is simple and in keeping with the environment. The bungalows have been built for comfort and coolness. They are made of wood and palm trees, in keeping with the surrounding nature of Nicaragua.
Food
The resort is French run and so flavors of French cuisine are mixed with local Nicaraguan products. They pay particular attention to turn every meal into a special moment and mealtimes are a key feature at Los Clavos. Their aim is to provide a family atmosphere with food served 3 times a day in the ocean view restaurant.
All food is freshly prepared from local seasonal produce. They will provide you with healthy sustenance to supplement your yoga practice. Being so close to a fishing village, they often serve grilled fresh fish accompanied by seasonal vegetables alongside a selection of salads with many vegetarian / vegan options. There is an abundance of fresh fruit and juices for everyone. Homemade French style desserts are a must. The fridge is always full of cold drinks and you can ask anytime for a cup of Nicaraguan coffee.
Typical Daily Menu
- Breakfast: Porridge with chia seeds, granola, fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, toast, juice, tea, and coffee.
- Lunch: Stuffed peppers / courgettes, rice and veg bowl, mixed salad, fresh fruit salad, tamarind juice.
