Myofascia Release, Majorca

I am delighted to offer a week of Myofascia Release in delightful Majorca, 24th June, at Finca S’Almudaina.  This week will be an ideal opportunity for you to connect with your Ashtanga Yoga/Vinyasa Flow practice and learn some new release techniques for you to really advance your practice.

The retreat is all inclusive with all meals freshly prepared onsite from local produce.  Food will be vegetarian/vegan with lots of heathy dishes to provide you with sustenance throughout the day.  Tea and juices will be served throughout the day.

Some experience of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series is recommended but not essential. The week is a great opportunity for teachers to be inspired but provides excellent opportunities if you would simply like to deepen your practice.

Myofascia Release Workshop
The retreat will include a daily Myofascia Release Workshop. This will give you an introduction into the world of the fascial lines of energy that run through the body. The focus will be the Front & Back Superficial Lines, Deep Front & Back Arm Lines, Lateral Lines and Spiral Lines. The workshop will guide you through several Myofascia Release Techniques. This will then help you gain an understanding of how it is beneficial to think of the body as a continuous web of communicative fascia rather than a fragmented set of muscles and bones.

You will be encouraged to identify physical limitations within your yoga practice in terms of fascial lines rather than a particular muscle. You will learn how to release the fascial lines with a partner or by yourself. The techniques covered in this workshop will then be integrated into your morning practice. This a great way to access postures that you may not have previously completed. To develop a practice of Myofascia Release is extremely beneficial to Ashtanga Yoga along with Vinyasa Flow. It has become an integral part of rehabilitation and stretch therapy.

The week will hopefully inspire you to develop a holistic approach to practice, both yours and your students.  This workshop is ‘hands on’ with heaps of opportunity for you to try new release techniques out on each other, with many new adjustments demonstrated.  If you are a teacher, we will also look at the pedagogy of integrating new release techniques into your classes.

Morning Practice
This will include Led Ashtanga Yoga, Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga and Technical Flows.  The mornings will begin with 30 minutes of Myofascia Release.   Each student will have his/her individual program that will have been devised during workshop time.  The morning session will also include 30 minutes of Pranayama & Meditation.

Afternoon Practice
This will be of a restorative nature to bring about balance and rejuvenation after an intense practice of Ashtanga Yoga and Myofascia Release.  Classes will include Yin Yoga, Mediation and Yoga Nidra…a soft and slow ending to the day.
